Calling 911 and Notifying Dispatch
When a medical emergency occurs, officers should call 911 or ensure 911 has been called. Officers should also notify Dispatch and supervision according to company procedure.
Information to provide:
- Exact location.
- Nature of emergency.
- Condition of the person.
- Whether the person is conscious and breathing.
- Hazards at the scene.
- Best entrance for EMS.
- Officer callback number if needed.
