Calling 911 and Notifying Dispatch

When a medical emergency occurs, officers should call 911 or ensure 911 has been called. Officers should also notify Dispatch and supervision according to company procedure.

Information to provide:

  • Exact location.
  • Nature of emergency.
  • Condition of the person.
  • Whether the person is conscious and breathing.
  • Hazards at the scene.
  • Best entrance for EMS.
  • Officer callback number if needed.
