CPR and AED Awareness

CPR may be needed when a person is unresponsive and not breathing normally. An AED may help during sudden cardiac arrest.

Officers should know:

  • Where AEDs are located on site.
  • How to alert EMS.
  • How to follow AED voice prompts if trained or instructed.
  • How to keep bystanders clear.
  • How to continue support until EMS arrives.
